Termination Policy

 1. Introduction

This Termination Policy outlines the terms under which services provided by Website Wannabe may be terminated, either by the customer or by Website Wannabe. It also defines the process and responsibilities for both parties in the event of termination.

2. Termination by Customer

Customers may terminate their services with Website Wannabe by following these steps:

  1. Notice Requirement: Customers must provide written notice of termination by email to support@websitewannabe.com or by opening a help ticket at least 5 business days before the next billing cycle. This notice will trigger our exit management process and help in a smooth transition to a new provider/owner/decommissioning.
  2. Final Billing: Any outstanding invoices must be settled before termination is finalized.
  3. Data Responsibility: Website Wannabe will hold a copy of your lastest backup on file for 30 days.  Customers are responsible for backing up their data before terminating services or requesting a backup from Website Wannabe. Website Wannabe is not liable for data loss after account termination.
  4. Refunds: Refund eligibility is determined by the terms of the Refund Policy.

3. Termination by Website Wannabe

Website Wannabe reserves the right to terminate customer accounts or services under the following circumstances:

  1. Violation of Policies: Engaging in activities that breach our Security Policy, Terms of Service, Acceptable Use Policy, or any other applicable policies.
  2. Non-Payment: Failure to pay outstanding invoices within 30 days of the due date.
    1. Any service more than 30 days late will be terminated.
    2. Any website hosting/management invoice more than 30 days past due will have the website put into maintenance mode until the outstanding invoice is paid in full including all fees.  If the account is not brought current within 45 days the website will be taken offline.
  3. Security Threats: Hosting malicious or harmful content that poses a threat to Website Wannabe’s infrastructure or other customers.
  4. Illegal Activities: Involvement in illegal activities or content prohibited by local or international laws.
  5. Abandonment: Any ongoing project that has not received a response from the customer within 10 business days is considered abandoned.  An abandoned project will be terminated/archived and trigger our abandonment policy.
  6. Force Majeure: Inability to continue providing services due to events beyond our control, such as natural disasters, governmental actions, or widespread internet outages.

4. Data Retention After Termination

  1. Retention Period: Website Wannabe will retain customer data for 90 days after account termination, during which customers may request a copy of their data.
  2. Permanent Deletion: After the retention period, all customer data will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered.

5. Refunds and Credits

  1. Eligibility: Refunds for terminated accounts are subject to the terms outlined in the Refund Policy.
  2. Non-Refundable Fees: Setup fees, domain registrations, and certain add-ons are non-refundable.

  1. Account Reinstatement: Terminated accounts may be reinstated within 45 days of termination upon request, subject to a reinstatement fee and resolution of the cause of termination.
  2. Service Availability: Website Wannabe does not guarantee the availability of services or data after termination.

7. Notification of Termination

  1. Customer Notification: Website Wannabe will provide notice of termination via the registered email address on the account.
  2. Immediate Termination: In cases of severe policy violations, termination may occur without prior notice.  In these cases, notice will be provided at the time of termination.
