Project Abandonment & Cancellation Policy
1. Introduction
Website Wannabe (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to delivering high-quality projects in a timely manner. This Project Abandonment Policy outlines the conditions under which a project is considered abandoned by the client and the actions that will be taken in such cases.
2. Definition of Project Abandonment
A project is considered abandoned if any of the following conditions apply:
The client fails to provide necessary materials, approvals, feedback or responses for 10 consecutive days.
The client does not make required payments within the agreed time frame.
The client requests a project extension or indefinite project suspension without a defined resume date. Website Wannabe approval is required.
- The client fails to sign the appropriate project documentation.
The client ceases communication and does not respond to follow-ups within 10 days.
3. Project Archiving & Cancellation
A project is archived if any of the following conditions apply:
- The client ceases communication and does not respond to follow-ups within 30 days.
The project will be archived after 30 days and a fee will be assessed to restart the project.
The project restarting is at the discretion of Website Wannabe and a new agreement may need to be in place to continue.
Website Wannabe reserves the right to cancel the project after 30 days, may charge the client for time spent on the project to date and/or sell the project to another client to recover lost project costs.
4. Notification Process
Before declaring a project abandoned, Website Wannabe will:
Attempt to contact the client via email, phone, and other agreed communication channels.
Provide a 3-day notice warning of potential abandonment and/or cancellation status.
Offer an opportunity to resume the project within a specified time frame.
If no response is received within the notice period, the project will be considered abandoned or canceled.
5. Consequences of Project Abandonment or Cancellation
If a project is deemed abandoned:
All work completed up to that point will be archived and may incur additional fees for retrieval.
Any outstanding payments remain due and payable.
Reinstating an abandoned project will require a reactivation fee and a reassessment of project timelines.
Website Wannabe reserves the right to discontinue further work until a new agreement is reached.
6. Reinstatement of an Abandoned /Canceled Project
A project may be reinstated under the following conditions:
The client pays all outstanding invoices, including reactivation fees.
A new timeline and scope of work are agreed upon.
Any additional fees due to timeline extensions or scope changes are assessed and accepted by the client.
7. Refund Policy
Website Wannabe does not provide refunds for abandoned/canceled projects. Any payments made up to the abandonment date are non-refundable and will be retained as compensation for work completed.
8. Policy Updates
Website Wannabe reserves the right to update this policy periodically. Any changes will be communicated via our website or direct client notifications.
