How to export your Webflow website
Paid Workspace plans can export the code. Your CMS content comes out separately.
The short answer
Code export is on paid Workspace plans. A paid Site plan alone does not include it. Webflow explains it here.
How to export
- 1
Export the code
Open the site, click the W logo for the Main menu, then Code export (or press Shift + E). Click Prepare ZIP and download it.
- 2
Export each CMS collection
Open the CMS panel, choose the collection and click Export. Rich text comes out as HTML.
- 3
Download your CMS images
They export as Webflow-hosted addresses, which break if the original site is deleted, so save them first.
- 4
Export form submissions
In Site settings, open Forms, View submissions, then Export all.
What does not come with you
The exported code leaves out CMS content and functionality, so collection lists show empty. It also loses User Accounts, Ecommerce, password protection, form handling, reCAPTCHA, site search and localized content beyond the primary language. You cannot pick part of a site to export. See the full list.
Before you cancel anything
Webflow is not a registrar, so a domain you bought elsewhere stays there. Remove it in Site settings under Publishing, then point it at the new site at your registrar. See the Webflow steps. Path redirects are in Site settings under Publishing, on a paid plan. See the redirect steps.
Our advice, on any platform: keep the old site live until the new one is tested, and put the page redirects on the new host. A redirect set on the old platform only runs while your domain still points there.
Exporting from Webflow
Do I need Webflow to keep the exported site running?
No. Webflow says no attribution or plan is required to keep an exported site running.
Why do my forms stop working?
Form handling is one of the things that does not come with the export. Someone has to rebuild it on the new host.
