Free tool
Email health check
See how mailbox providers judge your domain's email: SPF, DKIM, DMARC, MX, MTA-STS, TLS-RPT and BIMI, each explained in plain language. Free, no sign-up.
We look up public DNS records only. Nothing is sent to the domain, and no email address is needed.
What the check looks at
SPF
Which servers may send mail for your domain. We expand every include and count the DNS lookups, because more than ten breaks it.
DKIM
The signing keys receivers use to prove a message was not changed. We try the selectors your mail services use and grade each key.
DMARC
Your policy for mail that fails, and where reports go. We check the reporting addresses are allowed to receive them.
MX
Where mail for your domain is delivered.
MTA-STS and TLS-RPT
Whether senders must encrypt mail to you, and whether you hear when encryption fails.
BIMI
Whether your logo can show in supporting inboxes. It only applies once DMARC is enforced.
About the check
Is it really free?
Yes. There is no sign-up and no email address to give. There is a limit on checks per hour from one connection so the tool stays fast for everyone.
Why does it say "not checked" for something?
A DNS server did not answer in time. We never guess, and we never call a record clean when we could not read it. Try again in a minute.
Why do you not check blocklists here?
A one-time blocklist check of a domain is easy to get wrong: it often looks at your mail provider's servers instead of the addresses that send your mail. Our Email Deliverability service checks the right addresses every week.
It says DKIM was not found, but I set it up.
A DKIM key sits under a name, called a selector, that only your mail service knows. We try the common ones. If yours is different, the key can exist without this check finding it.
Can you fix what it found?
For businesses whose website we build and host, yes: that is the Email Deliverability add-on. Talk to us and we will walk through your results.
Still have questions? We are happy to walk through your domain with you.
